Warmer weather is here, and with it comes new projects of creativity! The air is brisk, the sun shining, and cameras will be rolling again. But of course, in order for ideas to be brought to life, there unfortunately needs to be funding. By now most have heard of the crowd funding site, Kickstarter, and it is here that dreams come true....or...are backed. I have had the fortune of being cast in a few projects this summer, and all three of their Kickstarters have gone live! Please take the time to learn about each one, and if you want to see great work brought to life, donate to one (or all. All would be amazing.)
MIX & MASTER: The first up is the wonderfully written project that I've mentioned before, Mix & Master! In case you're new to the scene, Mix & Master is the story of a once prosperous recording studio known as The Vault, now on the downhill spiral due to the incompetence of its producer, Mark Reid. Its not just his fault though, most of the staff and a few of its musical artists aren't really the most responsible of people. Still, they will struggle to work together to make something beautiful sounding..... or they will end up crashing, burning, and possibly behind bars. That's left yet to be determined... ![]()
Filmed in the style of such shows as The Office, Mix & Master takes a unique twist on the modern day documentary, setting it in the music industry. The cameras not only follow the cast along in this show, but also are part of the story. Music plays a large role as well, with each episode containing an original musical piece. This is a project that I've been excited about for a while now. Not only do I have a role in it as Caleb, but I am also a part of the writing team as well. These are some of the most passionate people I've worked with, and they are also spot on fantastic. To learn more about the project, check out the Kickstarter listed below. Also included are some links to the Pilot Episode to get a feel of what's to come, as well as a link to the specially made Kickstarter Video, Day in the Life (of the Virtueless and Ignorant)

PLANEWALKER:
Up next is a project being filmed out in Utica, NY. Planewalker is a Sci-Fi thriller is about a young man named Ryan Black, who since a child has been hearing voices behind closed doors....even when no one is on the other side. Ryan learns to keep to himself and ignore the strange voices for most of his life, but one day he accidentally stumbles through the door that whispered to him, and finds himself in a parallel realm. Planewalker promises to tell an exciting story of power and responsibility, and how sometimes your best ally is yourself. I play the role of Bull in this project. Filming hasn't begun yet, but I know its going to go in the right direction. The lead is played by Mu-Shaka Benson, who I have worked with before in Worlds Apart Films' short film, Unearth. Mu-Shaka was a nothing short of a pleasure to work with, and I am looking forward to doing so again. If you want a thrilling story to leave you on the edge of your seat, then definitely help bring this one to life by donating! Check out the Kickstarter page below to learn more about it! THE LAST FRANKENSTEIN:
Last but not least, we have The Last Frankenstein, a horror film that is a modern day spin-off of the original story. It tells the tale of Jason Frankenstein, the last of his bloodline, as he suffers in his stagnant life, trying to recreate the experiment that brought legend to his family's name. When he is confronted by a creature from his past, he finds the drive he needs to finish his experiment. This will be the first real horror film that I've been a part of. I play the role of Kevin Winsted, one of a pair of drug dealing paramedics sent to harvest body parts. The film follows the style of the 70's and 80's exploitation slasher flicks, and will feature genre icons Roger Perry and Jim Boelsen. If you are a fan of the horror genre and classic tales, please donate to make this film a reality! Check the Kickstarter page below, as well as a link to a fundraising party May 23 if you live around the Amsterdam NY area. Please spread the word!
